HEN- The manga by Hiroya Oku, best known for Gantz and other works.
Chizuru Yoshida is a high-school girl who has been extremely blessed ‘in the upper region’ of her body. When a new student, Azumi Yamada, wakes up some warm feelings in Chizuru’s heart, Chizuru gets a personality crisis: is it possible that she is a lesbian.
We’ll be starting out with Volume 2, Chapter 23. The first 22 chapters were done by Mangaprojects, and a big thanks goes to their hard work.

We haven’t decided yet on if we’re doing it or not… It’s back to what GWR does, since they are already finished with HEN. Makes no sense really for two groups to work on a series at the same time. HEN (yuri) was just a unique case because we started it, and by damn, we’re finishing it
Mainly because we also think that the community deserves QUALITY HEN scans.. But, if they start on the other Hen series, we won’t cut in and start scanlating random chapters like they did.. We’ll focus on other projects that have yet to be scanlated or have been dropped.

finished reading,can’t wait for the next chapter,i didn’t really read about that tall guy part cause i’m only interested at yoshida and azumi story,maybe once this manga finish i’ll read about them,that’s one of my habit of reading manga,reading something that i like and skipping the part that i’m not interested unless it’s finished,it’s already 4a.m need to get some sleep..thanks again for letting me read this wonderful manga..

Well, I grabbed volume 3 from IRC, so I read the whole thing. Hmmm.. it pretty much has the sucky ending of most yuri manga, although there is still some hope in the last panels.

The Hard, Cruel Life of The Manga Artist by Frederik L. Schodt
probably explains the reason for that.
Most men’s manga were published weekly, which meant that Hiroya Oku probably had a weekly deadline to meet.
Toward the end he was probably experiencing burnout, and maybe writer’s block.
Togashi Yoshihiro quit Yuu*Yuu* Hakusho because of extreme burnout.
I suspect that the problem with Hunter x Hunter is a case of burnout combined with a case of extreme writer’s block.
His now wife, Takeuchi Naoko, had a similar problem with near burnout after doing Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon for 5 years.

I’ve read that in HEN Volume 2 of the original series, there’s a shorter version of Chizuru and Azumi’s story. I’ve looked around the net for a scanlation of this and haven’t found it. Would you guys be interested in translating it? It would make a nice companion piece for the work you’ve done.
Also, the very last thing Chizuru says in the final panel of the manga bothers me. I’ve seen 2 translations of it that were quite different. Neither one was really very satisfying. Maybe I just wanted a more definitive ending. Any chance some could check the translation of that panel again and see if there’s any error?
